Nenia is supporting children and young people by sponsoring an event at Pureunsoop Waldorf School, an alternative education institution. The school frequently uses Nenia products for its meal service, leading to a natural partnership.
Pureunsoop Waldorf School, located in Toechon-myeon, Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, is a registered alternative educational institution under the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education. Founded in 2003, the school pursues Waldorf educational arts. Waldorf education began in Germany in 1919, created by the philosopher and educator Rudolf Steiner.
The school’s educational philosophy includes “respecting differences and seeking a life lived together,” an approach that aims to change the world through learning. Based on Steiner’s developmental stages, the school educates children so that hands and feet, heart and head grow harmoniously. It also aims toward ecological education and community education.
On September 6, the school will hold the 2025 Pureunsoop Cultural Festival: Eoulrim (“harmony”). The entire school becomes a stage for the event. The festival begins at 1:30 p.m. with community games. There will be a Waldorf puppet play, exhibitions, and hands-on activities. Students are preparing circus performances, recorder ensembles, strings, brass, traditional Korean music clubs, and more. A parent activity area will offer straw-twisting, archery, weaving, traditional knots, and linoleum print postcard making. School-admission consultations will also be available.
In line with the practice theme “A Precious Step for the Earth—100% Zero Waste,” no disposable products will be used at the event. Details are available on the school’s website.
Nenia will sponsor its Omi-Ja-ro Jju ice bar made with Mungyeong omija berries. The product uses fresh omija extract from Mungyeong and yam from Andong, with absolutely no synthetic additives. The “five-flavored” omija ice bar—sour, sweet, spicy, salty, and bitter—reflects children’s unique personalities and, Nenia hopes, will bloom into smiles.
